Lodge History

Ft. Hancock Lodge 1297 was charted by the Grand Lodge of Texas in 1946. Brother I.E. Franklin was the FIRST MASTER of the new Lodge.

Terrill Franklin was the First Master Mason raised in Ft. Hancock Lodge

The Lodge building in 1946 was on the back side of a Movie theater on the South side of old U S Highway 80.

The Lodge moved into their new building as soon as it was built in 1960.

Brother Martin Franklin was the first Master Mason raised in this Lodge building in 1960.

At one time there were three Lodges in Hudspeth County; Sierra Blanca Lodge 1063 which was chartered in 1912, Ft. Hancock Lodge 1297 chartered in 1946, and Dell City Lodge 1379 chartered in 1957.

In 1986, Sierra Blanca Lodge merged with Ft. Hancock.

Dell City Lodge merged with Ft. Hancock in 1989.
